Réunion Island

Réunion Island, which is about the size of Rhode Island, is part of the Mascarene archipelago in the Indian Ocean just east of Madagascar. Unlike the Seychelles to the North, the island is governed by the French constitution and legal system. Thus, French is the official language while Creole is also widely spoken. Formed by a volcano, the island is home to Salazies Mountain, an extinct volcano in the west, and by the Grand Brulé mountain in the east, where the Piton de la Fournaise – an active volcano - is situated. Due to its challenging landscape and terrain, the island is known to attract adventure seekers and hikers who can discover the many places which are accessible only by foot or helicopter. The island offers some of the most dramatic scenery anywhere, including jagged mountain peaks, sheer cliffs, waterfalls and an active volcano.

The outdoor activities on Réunion Island are endless. Adventure seekers can participate in canyoning, which challenges you to abseil down rugged gorges and cliffs into water holes or lagoons below. Tourists can also go paragliding, mountain biking, diving, rafting, water-skiing, snorkeling and swimming.

There are tons of events on the island, and many tourists tend to plan their trips accordingly around them. Some include Festival de Court-Métrage, Festival des Plantes et du Terroir, Grand Prix Départemental des Métiers d’Arts, and Foire Internationale des Mascareignes. Rental cars are readily available on the island for tourists to get from here to there, and tourists can even take direct flights to the island from Paris and all major European cities! For more information about the island, feel free to check out Réunion's official website.

Now this really sounds like an island I would enjoy! I recently went on my first skydiving adventure, which I loved and can't wait to do again! Although before I do it again I'd love to try something now. I enjoy trying new things and visiting new places so Reunion Island would be the best of both words. I would wnat to paraglide, go rafting, and maybe even attempt canyoning. Doesn't sounds possible to run out of things to do and see on this island! The events that take place on the island sound like fun too. I would definitely plan my trip to be there during one of the festivals. It's no surprise that this island is exciting and adventerous seeing as how it was formed by a volcano!!

I think this was the first location that I didn't have a huge desire to go visit. The only reason being, I'm not very physically active and I'm a wuss at a lot of activities, so I'm not sure if this island would be the best for me. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love a lot of these activities, but it's not on the top of my list to do when I visit various locations. I do like the fact that the island is formed by a volcano. That's why there are so many outdoors activities to experience I'm sure. The festivals sound like a lot of fun to attend. I feel like every country/island has all these festivals throughout the year. How come America doesn't have as many festivals? Our festivals are usually only one day, as compared to other week-long or month-long festivals around the world.

This place sounds like it would be great to visit. I love to hike and sightsee and it seems like the scenery would be great there. I always wanted to see a volcano up close and personal. My parents actually saw a dormant volcano when they went to Hawaii. They went to the top of the volcano and were able to look inside it. Whether the volcano is dormant or active, I would love to see one since I never have before. Obviously though, if it is active I am going to stay far away, so it if erupts, I will not be running from the lava.

After subscribing to you blog I realized that I have so much that I would like to experience. This island has so many fun things to do like scuba diving, I would love to scuba dive! I guess many islands are formed by volcanos, but I think that is really interesting. I hear people talk about visiting the volcano’s in Hawaii and it seems to be a once in a life time sight. The Reunion islands seem to have a lot of fun and interesting events to attend as well. Hopefully I will make it there one day, if not I at least hope to scuba dive.

Another issue you might encounter if you weren't a stellar college student is getting procustomwriting professors to create letters of recommendation for your application. The individuals who compose these letters of advice ought to be folks who can wholeheartedly endorse your capability to accomplish academically.
